Work will begin Monday, April 29, on a second phase of a project to rebuild and make improvements to roads in several Laughlin neighborhoods.

The $7.5 million project is located along El Mirage Way/James Bilbray and include improvements to 6.8 miles of roads in five neighborhoods. The project consists of the installation of a storm drain and roadway pavement removal and replacement. Work also includes sidewalk ramps, ADA curbs, signage and striping. The initial schedule of work hours is 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Lane restrictions will be in place as the work progresses over the next several months with message boards to advise motorists of traffic control changes. During the first week of work, El Mirage Way from Needles Highway to Banyon Drive will have one lane with flaggers helping to direct traffic flow.

“This is a new phase of an important project that started last year in Laughlin neighborhoods,” said Clark County Commissioner Michael Naft. “When the project is finished, all residential streets in Laughlin maintained by Clark County will be completely rebuilt. It’s a wonderful enhancement to the community.”

The first phase of the Laughlin Residential Rehabilitation Project started in April 2023 and was complete late last year. It included $7 million in improvements to nine miles of roads. The new phase of work covers the neighborhoods of Cottage Hill and Crossing West, Bilbray Ranch Estates and Bilbray Ranch Manor, Cove East and Waterford. Neighborhoods that were improved in the first phase included Canyon Rim, Terrace V and VI, El Mirage Park, Cielo De Azul, Via Bonita II, Laughlin Estates and El Mirage Estates.
